For each big national or international travel company there are around 1000 related micro-enterprises related direct or indirectly. Most of these micro-companies are not taken into account in the government touristic development policies however these low-profile-providers are the ones that offer the most part of the local environment´s essence and authenticity. Small touristic enterprises reflect the exclusive characteristics of each touristic destination wherever they operate, a more personalized service that big companies expect their clients to experience and they know they can achieve through small providers.
Jacamar tours is concerned that our visitors feel the comfort and the actual Costa Rican way always hand in hand with environment and sustainability. We work directly with small owners who we know manage quality standards and at the same time offer an authentic product to the traveler. Up-to-date small companies comprehend the 95% of all touristic services providers companies altogether which generate the third part of the income for the tourism sector. From buses companies, taxis, small hotels, schools, indigenous villages, rural houses, small haciendas with cultural exhibitions, local freelance guides, farm owners who we pay the entrance fee to start our adventure tours such as rafting or safari float… All of them have a fundamental role in Costa Rica´s tourism both socially and In terms of sustainability.
